Director of GBPT + All-round fitness & nutrition expert
I am excited to have joined the GBPT team and to be part of this great growing community! I’m looking forward to working alongside you to achieve the results you’re striving for in the year ahead. Although I’ve already met many of you I’d like to share with you a bit of my background and why I’m committed to helping you improve your health and enjoy your life more through exercise.
I’ve always loved challenging myself physically by setting goals and progressing towards them. I took up resistance training to improve my strength and gain weight for rugby and have been hooked ever since.
I’ve been involved in the fitness industry for nearly 8 years since I gained my certificate III in fitness in 2006 and followed up with my certificate IV.
I have trained many clients of all ages and ability. All of them with different goals as diverse as adventure racing, weight loss and bodybuilding. As well as Personal Training I have enjoyed conducting group exercise including boxing and freestyle circuit classes. I don’t subscribe exclusively to any one form of training. I see each training method as a tool to achieve a result and believe the best kind of exercise routine is the one which you will do!
MY MOTIVATION TO CONSISTENTLY IMPROVE
Personal training has been such a fantastic occupation for me as I love working with people and being active. After working in a commercial gym setting for a few years however, I decided I would like to further my knowledge and skill set to be able to help a broader range of people. I have gone on to achieve a degree in Exercise Science and postgraduate diploma of Exercise Physiology. I am a firm believer that exercise is good for everyone and now I am able to help people overcome various barriers whether it’s injuries or medical conditions. This allows me to guide all my clients in leading a happier, healthier and more active lifestyle.
Personally I have recently focused my training towards power lifting. I find it so motivating and empowering to consistently progress and continue to improve even after years of lifting. This is the feeling that I like to share with all my clients no matter what kind of exercise you enjoy or level of fitness you start at. It is such a rewarding experience and just as much for me as a trainer. All you need is to work consistently to a SMART plan and a bit of persistence. I can’t wait see what we will achieve this year!

All-round fitness & nutrition expert
Hey everyone, I’m Nick. You might recognise me or my name because I‘ve been training personally with GBPT for 3 years now! I’ve loved and learned so much from just participating in our program that I have been inspired to develop my knowledge and contribute to GBPT with my own skills and expertise.
I’ve recently completed my Certificate 3 in Fitness Instruction and am in the process of completing my Certificate 4 in Personal Training. I played a myriad of sports and athletics in my early life, but following high school I lost my way a bit. I did stints at gyms in my early 20’s but never really found my groove there. I started at GBPT in 2013 when I was just an office worker who drank too much V and lead a very sedentary lifestyle. My lifestyle quickly changed once I started training with Geoff and the groups in the CBD. I loved the outdoor training style- the creativity and diversity you could achieve while training outdoors always amazed me. And not just that, but I was getting fitter and happier with every week that passed and actually enjoying myself while doing it!
Fast forward a few years, I decided that I really wanted to help people the same way Geoff and my GBPT family helped me find a happier and healthier lifestyle, while still having a great time. Working for GBPT I want to help others find what they’re looking for in their fitness journey, whether that be a achieving a high level of fitness, having a good time exercising with like-minded people on a regular basis or anything in between.
I believe in a holistic and balanced approach to exercise which I know the GBPT philosophy embodies. I believe you can succeed in anything you set your mind to, no matter how hard the challenge.
I really look forward to training with you guys in the near future!

These qualifications have given me great knowledge and experience, but qualifications don’t always make a good trainer; the ability to motivate and teach others does. To motivate others, you truly need to believe in what you’re teaching, and I really do.
I was motivated to get into the fitness industry by my own personal experiences and the way exercise makes me feel. In my opinion, exercise is the best gateway drug in the world. At first, it’s that euphoric feeling you get after a hard workout. After a short time, that feeling can change your mindset so dramatically that it leads to changes in every facet of your life; diet, lifestyle habits, stress levels, general wellbeing, self-esteem and motivation. My aim in this industry is to give every one of my clients the best chance of achieving this mindset and realise their full potential.
I have always been an active person, having competed in a variety of sports from a young age. But my main love is basketball, which I played semi-professionally for several years until my mid-twenties. Two knee reconstructions later, I decided it wasn’t worth the damage to my body. After that I found myself becoming less active and less motivated every day.
Personally, I am all about balance; I’m fiercely competitive, I work hard and I love being pushed to the limit, but I also love to have a laugh and I definitely don’t take myself seriously. As a trainer, I want you to look forward to training and enjoy yourself when you’re there, but it’s going to be challenging and I promise that you will feel it afterwards.
I joined Geoff at GBPT because I truly believe that he is one of the best in the business, and I wholeheartedly support his philosophy and training methods. At GBPT, we’re all about helping you achieve a healthy lifestyle while having fun. All group classes and personal training programs are tailored to our clients’ goals and needs, and are underpinned by a deep knowledge of exercise physiology. We incorporate functional strength and body weight training, calisthenics, interval training, boxing and boot camps to achieve balanced physical function. And all of this takes place in a beautiful, outdoor setting, away from the stale gym environment that many people prefer to avoid.
I encourage you all to take the first step on your journey to better health, inside and out. You’ve all got the potential within you to be strong, confident, fit and healthy; you just need to get started!
